So with a restless night in the tent we woke to find two beautiful lakes either side of us with ducks, geese and lily pads...the kids were suitably impressed.
Then it was back to our mad dash to get to Townsville to pick up our new home (Andrew's sisters caravan) for the next 6 months...we made it as far as Yeppoon...
and we found a cheap caravan park there so we set up the tent again. By this time, we had had approx 3 hours when it didn't rain so we were wet, everything was wet including the inside of the tent...not fun!
The girls even managed to make a "camp fire"
So off we went to pick up our new home, it was at a pretty little caravan park just north of Townsville...but it wasn't as straight forward as we would have hoped...it had been sitting on a grassy area of the park for months and the local cockies thought it was a nice place to set up camp (pardon the pun) and it was pretty dirty too so off we went to get some cleaning products and some cockie bombs....$160.00 later it was clean enough to live in.
Then we went to find a new place to set up over night while we work out our next move..... so Saunders beach, here we come...
we even picked up a hitchhiker...
The kids took over the park!
A girl needs a shower..and privacy ;-)
But these are only 24 to 48 hr camp sites so we went to find the next freebie...and we stumbled onto a shady park with free water and a great park for the kids...blue water park, a 24hr camping area....just in time.
While there is more places we have been, this is up to 3 days ago and we have overstayed our 10am leave time at this park and this girl needs a warm shower and to wash my hair so I'll update soon, have a great day :)
The kids were bored, so we let them play in the rain
